What you will learn in this course!
Mind-the-Gap’s Workplace Readiness Programme aims to prepare newly recruited learners with little to no work experience for the world of work and to enhance their skills and confidence to be professional knowledge workers when placed in a working environment. Our programme drives the following actions for learners to:
1. MOTIVATE: this includes developing a strong sense of self-identity and purpose through self-discovery
2. INTEGRATE: this includes developing and building key soft and future-focused skills
3. ACTIVATE: this includes workplace preparedness and activating learning into reality and practice
Who this course is for?
If you are new to the world of work and want to develop and kick start your working career, then this is the skills programme for you. If you are workplace wanting to host unemployed youth, then this is the perfect bridging course for you!
Mind-the-Gap will deliver the programme over 3 months and can be customised to your workplace needs and timelines. We are a blended learning organisation and support the future skills of using technology in the workplace so learning will be blended with online, face-to-face and/or virtual learning. Where formal assessment is applied, this will be done online via our MTG Learning platform.
Our structured programme not only equips first job learners and graduates with essential skills but also fosters a sense of belonging and readiness for their new roles in the workforce (and not being challenged by their disability). Workplace integration or job shadowing will achieve real-world experience by placing learners in various workplace settings and building their understanding so that when placed, the transition is seamless.
This skills programme is made up of a number of modules that can be formally assessed for credit or credentials.
