Human Resources is a key business function that has a vital role to play in the success of any business.   It is the anchor between people and processes in an organisation that involves recruiting, selecting, onboarding and performance managing human resources to fulfil business objectives and growth.  In addition, it is necessary to formalise systems of remuneration, promotion, training and development within fair business and employee practices.

The National Diploma: Human Resources Management and Practices at NQF Level 5 focuses on the processes and practices across the four role clusters in human resources management and practices, namely:

  • Strategic planning for human resources management and practices,
  • Acquisition, development and utilisation of people,
  • Establishment and improvement of labour and employee relations, and
  • Compensation and administration related to human resources management and practices.

 

It is aimed to provide a generalist base across the HR function for people already working in the field of Human Resources.

What you will learn in this course!

Upon completing this full qualification, you will be able to:

 

  • Provide information for the development of policies with reference to:
  • Participating in the development of procedures for processes related to human resources management and practices in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Recruiting and inducting new employees
  • Contributing to the development of employees
  • Supervising a work unit and manage individual and team performance
  • Contributing to the establishment and improvement of labour and employee relations (including contributing to employee assistance and wellness programmes)
  • Contributing to the establishment, maintenance and utilisation of an information system related to human resources management and practices (including compensation)
  • Adhere to legislative requirements and organisational policies and procedures when co-ordinating and contributing to the management of some of the core processes related to human resources management and practices
  • Promote best human resources management practices in an organisation
  • Contribute to the monitoring of Health and Safety at the workplace
  • Identify strengths and areas for improvement in own learning through self-reflection and reflection on organisational human resources management and practices

Upon successful completion of the programme, you will have to write a national SABPP FISA (Final Integrated Summative Assessment) to qualify for the band level certificate.
