RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Recognition of Prior Learning, or more commonly known as RPL, is fast becoming a way to formalise learning where a person with actual experience and extended work expertise may not have been able to (throughout their career and work life) qualify themselves in their relevant work discipline or area of skill.
RPL is a way to recognise knowledge and skills gained by way of  formal, informal and non-formal learning so that you can either access further formal learning opportunities or be awarded credit for what you have achieved.
RPL is not shortcut to a qualification.  While training may not be the formal intervention, an RPL learner still needs to be supported in their own learning process by means of collecting and providing evidence for assessment (from a workplace/employer and Skills Development Provider perspective).
Our process includes matching a learner’s experience and knowledge to outcomes and then we map a unique blended online solution for this learning/qualification completion. Screening of candidates is vital to the success of RPL as learners who don’t have adequate prior experience and knowledge will not be recognized and struggle.  The level of learner to the level of qualification also needs to be considered for RPL eligibility.
Once screening has happened, we can then motivate the process of RPL or Blended approach (where some gaps will require formal training sessions).
